She’s somewhat like Tony Stark’s Jarvis, but with a less charming voice. In this scene, E.K.O, your AI partner that assists you through your mission, will be introduced. There is also a snippet featuring what seems to be an area inside the falls where you extract some kind of ‘generic resource’ from a red crystal. One thing that you’ll observe in the gameplay trailer is that some aliens can be killed by just shooting them continuously anywhere, while some have weak points that you’ll have to target in order to bring them down.Īnother section is played in the falls, one of the areas that will definitely leave you in awe. After killing this alien, a barrier will open behind it. This is where you’ll encounter a huge alien with antennas that you have to shoot in order to kill it. The second one, however, introduces you to icy platforms that have bird-like aliens that look almost cute.Īnother environment featured is a much drier and rocky part of the planet. The first environment is something quite similar to an ordinary forest where you can see screeching aliens that you might want to kill right away because they make too much noise. The gameplay footage introduces a few locations you’ll find in the game and also some of the things you need to know when fighting the aliens. That certainly is true for Journey to the Savage Planet, which came out with its gameplay footage video for E3. Hopefully, they'll produce more good games. As E3 fast approaches, more and more footage is coming out of the woodwork, some to update us on games that were long overdue. I hear the developers have reconstituted themselves. Once we cleared up the crashing by switching to an Intel/Nvidia system as host, we were fine. Other than that, nothing really significant. We slapped them afterwards (their bodies remain) and finally got the Achievement when we figured out what small creature we kicked instead of slapped. Secondly, it wasn't clear if the bosses have to be ALIVE when you slap them. For the small creatures, you have to force slap (hold the "E") to ensure you're slapping. The first issue with that is the game will convert what you think is a slap into a kick for some creatures and that doesn't count. One of the Achievements requires SLAPPING all the creatures (including the 3 bosses) in the game.Several of the Achievements are bugged or not-collectively achievable in co-op.Once my co-op partner started hosting (by copying the save files over to her computer) on her Intel/Nvidia system, we had no such problems. But, while I was hosting the co-op game, either the game would freeze or crash or my system would freeze or crash (4 different failure modes) about every 1-1/2 hours. I don't know if it's a function of my AMD CPU/GPU or something else. So, it doesn't look like any bugfixes will be forthcoming. The developer apparently was owned by Google and when Google killed Stadia, the threw the developers out into the street and kept the rights to the source code for themselves. But, even though I really enjoyed the game, there are problems: So, it's just about worth the base price of ~$30 (I got it on sale for about $9, so it was definitely worth it to me). I played it co-op and we finished the game with MOST of the Achievements in about 31 hours. "Journey To The Savage Planet" is a really good, fun game and I'm Recommending it.
